Can you imagine losing your home and all your belongings in a fire, and then 10 days later the company you work for closed its doors and you lost your job?
That’s exactly what happened to my guest Francesca Anastasi. And not to mention she also had a young daughter. And despite an active and intense job search, it was right after 9/11 and no one was hiring.
Many entrepreneurs start their business out of passion, or because they are ready for a change. Francesca started her business as a matter of survival, and determination to make it on her own. As she said in our interview today “If nobody was going to hire me, then I decided to hire myself”.
Her entrepreneurial journey didn’t start out smooth at all. In fact, when she opened her dance studio, NOBODY showed up.
I think at that point it would be so easy to give up and wonder why nothing was working out. But that wasn’t her outlook, instead she decided to succeed, and to make it work. And she did. 5 months later she was sold out and her success from that point on just kept climbing.
There are so many nuggets of wisdom and inspiration in her story when you look at the successful business she has today – which includes being the host and producer of one of the largest women’s conferences in Vancouver, the founder of Shimmy Mob and she also has her own podcast and YouTube channel, on which I’ve had the honor of Francesca interviewing me.
She’s living proof that where you are, is not where you have to stay. That you CAN succeed against incredible odds. And succeed well beyond your wildest dreams.
The key is to make up your mind to do it.
This is one of the most inspiring interviews I’ve done, and I really hope it inspires you to look at whatever you’re facing in your business and life, and make the decision to succeed, no matter what!
Let me know how you enjoyed it.
