In 2018 I made one of my biggest dreams come true and that was moving onto an acreage that I could bring my horses here to live with me. For a long time I thought this dream was way bigger than me, and I had NO idea how I was going to make it happen.
And even one short year ago today, this dream still seemed so far off…..I was still talking about it without a clue as to how and when it would manifest. It just seemed so impossible.
From the money, to my horsemanship abilities, to my lifestyle, I had no idea how I would do this. Land in the Vancouver area is not exactly inexpensive. As much as I loved horses, for years I was too scared to handle them without an instructor there. And I love to travel, I love my freedom, what would that mean if I had all these animals living here with me? The pugs are high maintenance enough!!
However my heart was in it 100% . And so even though most people thought I was crazy , heck I thought I was crazy, I kept this dream fixed firm in my vision, my heart, my beliefs, my decisions and more importantly actions.
- I found a way to pay for it. I built my business. I took the scary action. I made the sales calls. I created multiple revenue streams. I took some moves and risks that to many would seem insane. I left my comfort zone BIG time in all areas of my life. And I managed to pull together the multi 7 figure investment needed to buy the property and renovate it.
- I dove into horsemanship and did everything that terrified me so that I could stop being afraid and instead become masterful. I invested time, money, and learning. I studied and applied myself for 5 years. I took no excuses. I rode and did my ground work in the dark, in the rain, in the cold, in the heat. I took care of my horse when he was lame, and loved him when he bucked me off.
- I surrounded myself with ranch team and support so that I could STILL have the lifestyle – though truth be told, I’m not feeling like I want to be anywhere but here at my ranch with my herd, however if I want to leave town tomorrow I have the support to make it happen.
And then when I was ready, it manifested so fast it made my head spin!
And so today for our first episode of Living Forward TV for 2019 I’m doing something a little bit different and sharing a glimpse into my personal life, my home, and the day I brought Chip and his best buddy Sunny home and Believe and See Ranch became a reality.
It was a crazy day. And a wonderful day.
And it’s my hope that when you watch this video and you think ahead to the 362 days left of 2019 that you go for what you really want, not just what you think you can get. That you will stop waiting until “you’re ready”. That you take the risks, the chances, the learning, the mentoring, build the team, and go for what you want, and never stop until you get there.
