You know the scenario – you’re speaking to a prospect, or someone who could be a prospect, and before you ask them even a single qualifying question they simply blurt out,
“SO WHAT DO YOU CHARGE?”
And then what happens… Do you feel panicked and freak out internally? Get all weird and offer a discount that nobody asked for? Or blank out? …Or ….or …or?
I get it, I’ve been there. I used to totally blank out and then I’d either lose the sale or get it but seriously undercut myself. I poke a little bit of fun at that in today’s video.
When a prospect goes right to asking the price of your product or service, it can throw you right off your course because the question is completely out of context.
And the worst thing you can do is to actually answer the question because you really don’t know what they need, and what the right solution is for them. And the last thing you want to do is lose the sale or underprice yourself.
